Here are the details of the next Tooting Vountary Force outing, which is open to all and I hope you can join us. This is our 10th event and to celebrate that milestone we're going aquatic!
We are joining the Wandle Trust and local estate agents Seymour Green to spend a few hours cleaning up the Earlsfield stretch of the Wandle River so that local wildlife can reinstate itself. As an urban river it suffers heavily from fly-tipping and pollution, so we will be donning waders and fishing out rubbish, which I gather can include anything as diverse as number plates to bicycles!
All equipment is provided, as is tea and cake, but feel free to bring extra provisions with you. We'll meet on the Kimber Road bridge over the River Wandle just before 11am. If coming by train, turn right out of Earlsfield station and walk for a little under 10 minutes down Garratt Lane, before turning left onto Kimber Road.
As always, we'll be hoping to get a dozen or so volunteers along for the event so that we can have maximum impact in improving our local environment. It would be great to see you there.
