Public Exhibition for Trafalgar Arms Redevelopment Plans

 Welbeck Developments are holding a public exhibition into the proposed redevelopment of the former Trafalgar Arms pub, which they acquired last year. The exhibition will be held between 2-8pm on Monday 28th April at The Cafe, South Thames College, Tooting High Street.We understand that representatives from the Welbeck Developments Design and Consultant team will be on hand to present the emerging scheme and answer questions.

20-mile Old Sergeant Charity Walk

 I'm delighted to be supporting this long-established charity walk from Hampton Court to Putney on Saturday 24th May, and which has raised over half a million pounds for local charities in recent years.

Longer trains for Earlsfield

Those of us who use Earlsfield station in the morning and evening rush-hours are all too aware of the extreme over-crowding on the platform and in the carriages at these times. While 8-carriage trains may have been sufficient many years ago, the popularity of Earlsfield and the rise in local population have meant that 10-carriage trains are now a necessity. Looking at the experience of nearby Balham, where 10-carriage trains were introduced a few years ago, I have seen the positive impact that an extra 25% capacity at peak times can bring.

'Silicon Junction' Networking Event

 There has been much talk of Silicon Roundabout in Shoreditch, which has been successful is supporting online and technology business start-ups. So I was intrigued to hear more about the Silicon Junction project, which is based in Clapham Junction and attracts entrepreneurs from across Wandsworth.

Totterdown Fields Conservation Area

The Totterdown Fields Estate was London County Council’s first housing development, as well as being the country’s first municipal ‘garden estate’. When completed in 1911 it consisted of over 1,200 cottages, the vast majority of which remain today.Having lived near the Totterdown Estate myself, I’m aware of how it forms a key part of Tooting’s cultural heritage, so I was delighted to be approached by local residents looking to play a more active role in conserving it.
