The Furzedown Project - AGM

 Many of you will be familiar with the excellent work that The Furzedown Project has been doing since 1975, helping prevent social isolation among elderly people. Thier centre is based on Moyser Rd in Furzedown, from where they offer a wide range of services to the local elderly community.

Bellevue Road Summer Fair

7th September 2013
10am - 6pm

 This is the 2nd Bellevue Road Summer Fair, building on last year's successful event. There will be lots family activities, as well as food, drink and music.One of the highlights of the day will be the Mayhew Dog Show, with multiple categories judged by local celebrities! The Mayhew Animal Home has been established since 1886, providing welfare to negelcted animals, so is a very worthy charity for us to be supporting at this year's fair.We hope to see you there. 

Wandle Trail Expansion in Earlsfield

 The latest outing of the Tooting Voluntary Force will be to help expand a stretch of the Wandle Trail in Earlsfield. The project will be run by Sustrans, who are responsible for maintaining the UK's National Cycle Networks. The Wandle Trail is one of the shorter routes in the network, running from Croydon to Wandsworth Town, but is highly valued by the local community as a quiet place for a riverside wander.

Table Top Sale for Friends of St George's Hospital

10.30am - 2.30pm

Friends of St George's are organising a table top sale in the Consultants Car Park just outide the main hospital entrance. All funds raised will go towards their charitable funds to be spent on good causes at the hospital.  This wil be our first meeting after the Council's decision on the Community Asset listing for the Wheatsheaf. So it should be an interesting session and a good chance to plan the next stage of our camapign to protect the pub. We'll be in the back room of the pub, so hopefully see you then.

Friends of St Georges Hospital

The Friends of St George's Hospital has been supporting our local hospital for 60 years, making a huge contribution to patient and staff wellbeing.Despite its long history, the charity is holding its first ever duck race, in the hospital pond! In attendance wil be volunteers, supporters and staff, including Miles Scott, the Chief Executive of the hospital.We will be operating a book on the outcome of the duck race, with all donations going to the charity, so please join us for a flutter!
